About Mantlin

Mantlin is a practice platform for the Life in the UK test. It gives you free practice tests with saved progress and honest feedback on where you are strong and where you need more work. A one off Pass Pack with the deeper study tools comes later, and it is a single payment rather than a subscription. It is built to be calm, clear and free of the clutter and dark patterns common in this space.

Why this exists

I built Mantlin while my partner and I were preparing for our own Life in the UK tests. The practising itself was fine. Everything around it was worse than it needed to be. Cluttered, full of adverts, and vague about whether what it was teaching you was actually right.

I build software and automation for a living, mostly internal tools and AI where it genuinely helps rather than where it sells. So this was squarely in my wheelhouse, and it was hard to keep noticing the gap without doing something about it.

Mantlin started as a better way to practise for one exam. The intention is for it to grow into something broader.

Who operates Mantlin

Mantlin is operated by South East Automation Limited (company number 16324389), a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales, with its registered office at Flat 4, 113 Central Hill, London, SE19 1BY, England.

We are independent

Mantlin is an independent study tool. It is not the official Life in the UK Test and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Home Office, GOV.UK or the UK Government. The official test can only be booked and taken through GOV.UK. We use the name “Life in the UK test” only to describe what our practice material helps you prepare for.
