This is a plain-English summary of the rules for using Mantlin. These terms govern your use of Mantlin, a free study aid operated by South East Automation Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16324389, with its registered office at Flat 4, 113 Central Hill, London, SE19 1BY, England. By using the service you agree to these terms. Please read the accuracy and non-affiliation points below carefully, as they matter for how you use what we provide.
Mantlin is a practice and study aid for the Life in the UK Test. It is free to use. We do not charge you to practise, and no money changes hands. If we ever introduce a paid feature, we will make that clear at the time and update these terms, because some consumer protections that do not apply to a free service would then apply to that paid feature.
Mantlin is an independent practice and revision tool. It is not the official Life in the UK Test, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Home Office, GOV.UK or the UK Government in any way. The official test can only be booked and taken through GOV.UK, and the official material is the Home Office handbook. Our questions and explanations are a study aid to help you prepare, and they are not official material. We use the name Life in the UK Test only to describe what our practice material helps you prepare for.
Practising with Mantlin does not guarantee that you will pass the official Life in the UK Test. We help you prepare. The result is not something we can promise, and you should always book and sit the official test through GOV.UK.
Our questions, explanations and any AI-generated study plan and guidance are study aids. The AI study plan and guidance are automated study suggestions produced in part by a third-party AI system. They may not be complete or perfect, they are not professional or legal advice, and they are not a certified or official assessment. Please use them alongside the official handbook and GOV.UK, which you should always treat as the authority. Any AI-written summary is generated from your own practice numbers and is clearly marked as AI-written.
You can practise as a guest. You may choose to save your progress by creating an account with your email address, a password and your name. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and your email secure. You can close your account at any time from your account page, which also lets you delete your practice data. We may suspend or close an account that misuses the service or breaks these terms.
You agree to use Mantlin for your own personal study. You agree not to copy, scrape, resell or redistribute our questions, explanations or other content, not to reverse-engineer the AI feature, and not to misuse or attempt to disrupt the service or any part of it.
Our content, including our questions, explanations, study material and branding, belongs to South East Automation Limited and remains ours. The practice answers and progress that you create remain yours, and you allow us to use them as needed to provide the service to you, for example to show your progress and to generate your study plan.
Because Mantlin is provided free of charge, the statutory quality rights that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives for paid digital content do not apply to it. This does not remove the protections that apply whatever the price, which are set out in the next section. If we ever charge for a feature, those statutory quality rights would apply to that paid feature, and we would revisit these terms.
We provide Mantlin on a reasonable-efforts basis and as a study aid. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law. In particular, we do not limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK law does not allow us to exclude.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for losses that arise because you relied on our practice material or AI guidance in place of the official Home Office handbook or GOV.UK. These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer, and any term that a court found to be unfair would not be binding on you.
You can stop using Mantlin at any time and close your account from your account page, which deletes your data as described in our privacy policy. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or misuse the service.
We may change these terms from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Mantlin after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
