The test is booked online through the official GOV.UK service. No other site can book the real test for you, so if a website asks you to pay it to book the test, that is not the official service. Starting on GOV.UK keeps your money and your details safe.
There are over 30 test centres across the UK, and you pick the one you want, along with a date and time, when you book. Choosing a centre close to you and a time you can reach easily makes the day calmer. GOV.UK says you can make special requests when you book, giving the example of a disability where you need extra equipment or help getting into the centre. Ask at the point of booking rather than on the day, because the centre has to arrange it in advance.
Worth knowing that GOV.UK describes this in general terms and does not spell out what is offered for a reading difficulty. If that is your situation, ask the helpline what is available before you book rather than assuming either way.

On language, the test is normally in English. You can take it in Welsh if you go to a test centre in Wales, or in Scottish Gaelic if you take it in Scotland. It follows the centre you book rather than a language option you pick, so choose the location accordingly.
You can cancel or move your test and get a refund only if you do it at least 3 days before the test. Within 3 days there is no refund. Use the same official GOV.UK service you booked with to make any change. Once your date is set, read what you need to bring so nothing catches you out on the day.
