In short
The Life in the UK Test has 24 questions and you have 45 minutes to answer them. The questions are multiple choice, and the test is taken in English. You need 18 of the 24 right to pass, which is 75 percent.
45 minutes is more time than most people need, so you do not have to rush. The questions are based on the official Home Office handbook and cover British values, history, government and everyday life in the UK. You take the test on a computer at an official test centre. There is no writing and no spoken part. For each question you choose the best answer from the options on screen.

You answer 24 questions in 45 minutes on a computer at an official test centre. The questions are multiple choice, so each one gives you options and you pick the correct answer or answers from them. There is no essay and nothing you have to say out loud.
All of the questions come from the official Life in the UK handbook published by the Home Office. The topics include British values and principles, the history of the UK, how government and the law work, and everyday life. Our free practice draws from the same topics, so the questions you see here are close in style to the real ones.
Almost everyone finishes inside the 45 minutes. That works out at nearly two minutes per question, which is far more than most questions need. If you are unsure on one, you can move on and come back. Practising to time on this site helps the real 45 minutes feel familiar rather than tight.
